Based upon George R.R. Martin's series of A Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones have attracted record numbers of viewers and readers to the shores of Westeros. But what if GRRM used only marine animals for the different house sigils? So for every season 5 Game of Thrones episode that is released, we will release a house sigil with a counterpart marine animal (if applicable).
But why "pelagic zone"? Besides the wordplay on "throne" and "zone", the term "pelagic zone" describes one of the many aquatic layers in the ocean. To break it down simply:
The pelagic zone is the top 200 meters of the ocean, depending on how far the sunlight shines, coral reefs thrive, and algae grows. The marine animals we will use for the different house sigils will be from the pelagic zone of the ocean. This isn't the biggest part of the ocean, but it is certainly the more comfortable part of it.
Stay tuned to see what marine animal we will use to pair with the main Westero houses!
